Bartholdi Park

History of Bartholdi Park

Created in 1932, the park was designed around the showcase water fountain sculpted by Frederic Auguste Bartholdi. The detailed fountain is 30 feet high that uses water and light to entertain the visitors. When the fountain was first made, it used innovative gas lighting to accommodate the 12 lights located on the top of the fountain. The fountain sculpture is based on a sea creatures theme, with various sea creatures such as turtles and fish spewing out water into the upper basin of the fountain.
